Scene 1
Students walk into to classroom




Scene 2 
Mr Kirby is trying to make a joke with a student , the student awkwardly laughs and tries to brush it away and skip the conversation starters.



Scene 3 
This is when the student is trying to help with technical issues and he then decides to prank the teacher buy going on a illegal website.


Scene 4 
The teacher is then shocked to realise that he's been set up and has been pranked with going on the illegal website.


Scene 5 
This takes a look at how the IT technician picks up that a computer has been on a illegal website and both teachers are quite shocked to see the pop up adds.

Narrative
Narrative is structure to tell a story in films.
Narratives appear in film , documentaries ,animated films and short films.
A narrative is n account of a string of events occurring in space and time
Narratives do not unfold randomly , but rather as an ordered series of events ,connected by logic of cause and effect.
The logic is linked together character traits , goals and obstacles and actions.

The narrative structure
Exposition - rising action - climax- falling action - denouement./resolution.

How narrative unfolds. 
typically a narrative begins with one situation
A series of changes occurs according to a pattern of cause and effect.
Finally a new situation arises - through character choice and conflict - that restores equilibrium to the world of the story and brings about the

Character
Narrative films generally focus on human characters and their struggles
Characters are typically responsible for cause and effect in narrative.

Development of characters. 
How do writers develop round ,dynamic characters
Through conversations with other characters

Flat-minor characters who do not go through much change
Round- More fully developed characters who may experience a change during story.

Traits. 
Attitudes , skills , habits , tastes , psychological.

Choices and Goals 
Characters create cause and effect through choices that lead to conflict and consequences
This are given to make sure they go through changes to pursue a specific goal.
They have to pursue a goal and the goal is what makes the dram unravel and the obstacles create the conflict and then the drama.

Types of conflicts 
Man v man
Man v Nature
Man v himself
Man v society
Man v machine
Man v supernatural


Diagetic vs Non diagetic elements 
Diagetic elements are everything that exists in the world that the film depicts - including everything implied offscreen : settings , sounds , characters, events.
Non diagetic are elements within the film, but not within the films world , such as credits , music or voice over narration.
Characters are unaware of these elements.

Selecting and organisation events. 
Feature films have a running time or screen time of between 9- - 180 minutes. But the stories they tell rarely take place in that amount of time.


The story 
The  is the chronological narrative , in its entirety.
It include events that take place during the span of time of the plot that are implied but not overtly depicted.
These include a characters backstory.

The plot 
The plot entails more than simply omitting events from the story - it involves reordering events - some times using flashbacks and flash forwards.
These are scenes from the past or future that interrupt the films presents tense to rearrange the chronology of the story.

Linear - beginning
Non - linear - flash backs,  time skips - Star wars
Multi strand - multiple narratives told at once and linking the different characters to each other. Pulp Fiction.

Open - Films that end in a cliff hanger that leave a movie open for a new story - Marvel films.
Closed - results in an ending - When they see us.
Point of view - first person ,  third person.

As we watch the film analyse the narrative structure in terms of the following

What is the structure of the narrative -a bit of non linear because we look into the protagonist past or backstory and his past experiences in the war and how its affecting through out the rest of the film

Does it have an open or closed-

whose point of view -its from the protagonist view and is seen from their perspective.

does the narrative fit into a typical structure-2

what is the genre of the film how could you tell. -Its a psychological thriller and there are elements of mystery , drama and bits paranoia.


Genre is a style or category of literature or other forms of art or culture. in forms writing , speaking.

Each genre will follow a set of codes and conventions or rules that follow that genre.
Horror e.g.
Dark colours

Maleficent-fantasy due to the magic and mythical characters and the special effects being used.
Terminator-sci fi / action , special effects bionic machines and cyborgs and the action of martial arts and the guns and explosions
IT-horror dark theme and soundtrack and the whole trailer being shown.
21 bridges - Action thriller
Night school - Comedy due to the tone of the movie and the theme being light and having a comical sensation to the trailer and the whole soundtrack being used is light and funny.

They can also subvert the viewers expectations of generic conventions
They need to experience both familiarity and difference within the films they see
If a genre film is to be successful , it needs to acknowledge both of these demands.
Audiences need to see developments in the way genre elements are presented to them
genre has rot develop and adapt the way they use the conventions
they may even use conventions sub consciously to acknowledge the viewers understanding of a particular genre
The time in which a film is produced will influence the way in which its conventions are used
The attitudes of society and the idea that come from this will change the way in which genre conventions are used

Genres are sued by producers to secure a good financial return on a film
A genre film becomes
They have a set of reconisable and predictable elements
They can be considered as a genre in their own right.
